OA Elections Coming April 16th

posted Apr 5, 2015, 5:09 PM by Kent Riggins
Troop 617 will have an Order of the Arrow Election on April 16.  If a Scout wishes to be on the ballot for the OA election they must meet the following criteria:
1. Be a registered First Class or higher Scout.
2. Have camped 15 or more nights in the last two years.  Those nights must include one long term camp, such as summer camp, but may only count one such camp towards the 15 nights.
3. Create a list of those 15 nights and give them to the Scoutmaster, Mr. Levy.
4. Write two short paragraphs and provide them to the Scoutmaster, Mr. Levy.
    a) Why I am qualified to be a member of the Order of the Arrow.
    b) Why I would like to be a member of the Order of the Arrow.
Please note that any Scout wishing to be considered for election should have the list of camping nights and the two paragraphs to Mr. Levy by the meeting on April 9th (our Court of Honor).  An election ballot has to be created prior to the meeting on April 16th.
If you (your Scout) is unsure about the OA, have them speak with another Scout in the Troop who is already an OA member.
Thank you,
Larry Levy
